Wilshere in, Sanchez in: Reliable 3-4-3 Arsenal lineup against Doncaster

Arsene Wenger is expected to rotate his squad when Arsenal host league one side Doncaster in the Football League Cup Third round game on Wednesday.

The Frenchman is known for his style of fielding a relatively different side in the competition and it doesn’t look like he’s going to stop now.

Wenger is expected to give the quartet of Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud, Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott an opportunity to prove their fitness while some youngsters could also feature.

Here is the probable line up for Arsenal with Wenger expected to stick to his 3-4-3 formation which was very effective in our outing against Chelsea in the Premier League last Sunday.

Goalkeeper

As widely expected, this is David Ospina’s birthright. He might not be in goal for Arsenal during League games but he gets chosen for cup games and he should be in between the sticks on Wednesday.

Defence

Wenger is expected to parade an entirely different defence with Callum Chambers, Per Mertesacker and Rob Holding expected to be the back three.

The trio looks like a good combination on paper but let’s see how they fair against Doncaster. That will be a good point to start from.

Midfield

After making a second half appearance last week against Cologne, Jack Wilshere could bag his first start of the season with a place in the central midfield while he could get Mohamed Elneny as his partner.

Youngster, Reiss Nelson could start at the right wing back position while another youngster Ainsley Maitland-Niles could operate from the left wing.

Attack

Just like it was at a point, the once feared attacking trio of Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud could start.

Sanchez is expected to operate from the left as he builds his fitness, while Walcott who is also in similar fitness issue will likely be at his preferred right position with Giroud leading the line.
