Controversial Arsenal supporter, Piers Morgan has urged the Arsenal hierarchy to sell Mesut Ozil before the end of his current contract which ends next summer. The 29-year-old German playmaker has refused to sign an extension on his current deal and has been linked to a number of clubs including Manchester United, and it would seem that broadcaster, Piers Morgan has had his share of keeping up with the playmakers lack of willingness to play for the club.

Mesut-Ozil
Ozil went missing in yet another big game for Arsenal on Sunday as he was completely anonymous in the 3-1 defeat at Manchester City, and Morgan was at pains to explain why he needs to be sold. Morgan is a very outspoken celebrity fan who has fallen out with number of players in the Arsenal setup and has champion the cause of letting manager, Arsenal Wenger leave the club.
Over the years, Ozil has been criticised for his lack of effort without the ball and the familiar failings showed yet again as he lost the ball on numerous occasions and was a liability when City had the ball. Alexis Sanchez, who is also in the same situation as Ozil and being courted by City, gave his all to the club in the match and is not the subject of any criticism for his on pitch performances.
On Twitter, the popular social media platform, Morgan said via @piersmorgan. “I was Ozil’s biggest fan, but we should sell him. He’s not interested any more. #afc.”

Many will find it hard to disagree with Morgan in his assertion, as the German has looked uninterested on many occasions this season. Starting from January 1 he could decide to sign for foreign clubs on a pre-contract but Arsenal would be foolish to let him go on a free transfer come next summer. Ozil has downed tools as he looks to force a move away from the club.
Ozil is a classy playmaker known for his vision, passing and amazing creativity but his major weakness is his lack of off-the-ball effort. He joined in a then club record deal from £42m from Real Madrid back in 2013 and has won 3 FA Cup titles at the Emirates. He has made 168 appearances for the Gunners, scoring on 33 occasions.
