Arsenal have been linked with a number of players who could add depth and quality to the first team this January. After a morale-boosting win over London rivals, Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday, Arsenal manager, Unai Emery will turn his attentions to the transfer market as he looks to bolster his squad and attempt to finish the season in the Champions League places. The Gunners are now only three points behind Chelsea, who currently occupy the coveted 4th place.
The 13-time English champions have been linked with the pair of Denis Suarez and Yannick Carrasco in recent weeks, with speculation mounting that these two players will call The Emirates Stadium home, very soon.
Denis Suarez
The Spaniard is currently unhappy at Barcelona, and has been linked to Arsenal many times this month. The 25-year-old knows Unai Emery well following their time in Sevilla in the 14/15 campaign, and is interested in joining forces with the gaffer again. He has struggled for game-time at the Camp Nou this term, having fallen down the pecking order following the arrivals of Arthur and Arturo Vidal.
He was left out of Barcelona’s Sunday victory over Leganes, leading to more speculation that he is set to leave the club. Barcelona want him to go on loan with an obligation to buy though the Gunners only want an option to loan. He was seen liking several of Arsenal’s tweets following the victory over Chelsea fuelling the flames of speculation even further.
Yannick Carrasco
Belgian international, Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco wants to leave China after growing frustrated with the level of football in the Asian country. He is ready to move to the Premier League and has attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, but it seems he prefers to live in London. It is yet unclear whether he will make the move soon. His wife, Noemie Happart stated recently that many teams want to sign him, but he would take his time before making a decision on his next move.
