  1. When it works it works well. Brilliant pic of Song. Walcott’s goal was awesome. Up the Arsenal! 🙂

  2. the best ive seen them play as a defensive unit in years.keep playing like that stay injury free then we have a great chance of trophies this season.

  3. John Terry said before the match that Arsenal will be humiliated. Now they are the ones who left the Emirates with their tails behind their back.
    Up Gunners!!!

  4. Well, I don’t want to sound too arrogant and up-start about this but…WE FINALLY BEAT CHELSEA!! I was so happy when I woke up and looked at the score line. So happy to hear that Walcott secured a vital goal and assisted in another too, he has a great future ahead of him and I hope he provides well for Arsenal just as he did tonight. I hear Djourou had a fantastic game which I’m also very happy to hear because he has immense potential and to see our defenders doing something right is always a pleasure. Set-pieces need a liittle bit of work but over-all, well done to the guys for a brilliant display of faith, courage and skill. Well done to A.W. for realising Song’s need to lie back a little as I hear. Again, very pleased to encounter such a great score-line which truly has made my day. Keep up the faith Arsenal!

  5. John Terry, in an interview before the game said all the Chavski players
were getting ready to “give Arsenal a pounding”. Perhaps he was talking
about pounding another team mates girlfriends pussy!!

    Terry, you’re a Wankaaaa!!!

  6. May be I`m the onlly one (with AW) who thinks we get what we alway deserves. The edge of justice (you can call it luck) which gave us our own victory. We were not with so little injured players since a long time (I hope that that will not change). I always believed that our main curse was the injury and nothing else.

  7. Arsenal dominated the majority of this game. Aside from the set piece i can not recall of one shot on goal (song had a few solid shot blocks) Personally i do not think that Arsene specifically told Song to sit in front of the defense. He looked to be doing the same thing he has done all year. Namely, prowl around the midfield looking for tackles and then getting forward when possible. After all Song provided the breakthrough goal. Anyways too much nit picking on my part. The gooners definetly outclassed and outplayed Chelsea in every respect of the game. Hopefully that C*nt Nani was watching and his dismissal of Arsenal can be shoved down his throat!!

  8. Great win tonight we played those Chelsea pensioners off the pitch tonight may be now the pundits will start tacking us as serious title contenders now. More of the same on Wednesday against Wigan !!!!

  9. John Terry!! Go hang az u had 2 swallow your words! Arsenal iz back on their footing. The way Cole overlaps finaly paid off, Theo showd him dat he made a mistake 2 quit Arsenal! Coz Wenger strategy paid off. Cole feared moving due Theo’s speed. BRAVO Arsenal!!

  10. It’s so amaizing we’ve ‘GUN’ them down, credit 2 our defence they play vry well, at the middle of the park has a vry good combination with stkas and they do reinforce the dfnce, my say iz we can start wit tha line up the next match it was well oganised

  11. Excellent win. RVP and Walcott started, no Squillachi and we won.
I cant feel happier….a good look at both benches and you can see the difference in both teams.
Ancelloti clearly has favourites…how on earth does any coach pull off Mikel at half-time?
Reminds me though of ours….who changed rather dramatically today and did what I had always been saying. We could have damaged them more, but the subs(apart from FABs) didn’t help.
THANK YOU WENGER FOR NOT BEING SENTIMENTAL TODAY…
    Here we come Barca…

  12. If we did not score, we would have lost this match. The difference b/w this match and the one against manure is that we scored….therefore there was little pressure on the DEFENSE to make silly mistakes from.

Can we now start praising the defense?
    Point made…End of rant

  13. Was at the game today and Ashley Cole was getting abused all game. At 1-0 he pointed at his champions prem league badge giving it the biggen………. 2 goals later didn’t say a thing!!! Once a cunt always a cunt. Get in there u gunners!!

  14. What a great time to give some payback Arsene your belief is getting through at last !!!! BRILL WIN BOYS

  15. Nice win! ‘Twas good to see Ashley C. contributing to two of Arsenal’s. It had been a long time since he last did that 🙂 Walcott repeatedly got the better of him. Note to M. Wenger: you still need to sign a world- class ‘keeper, and selling the selfish Mr Bendtner to pay for that would be a good move.

  16. Its feels great having our boys pound those silly pensioners…. They ve played and won d game with their mouths before †нє game started…I hope d russian realizes that you can’t get everything with stolen money…. And send †нє italian packing.

  17. Finally, no Arshavin! Walcott should be the starter on the wing. His pace and clinical finishing are much more a problem for defenses and he gets back twice as fast as the little Russian. Sell the little guy and get another winger with pace in the window. It won’t happen but I can always dream.

  18. God has destined it to be and we thank God for work WELL done. All arsenal players played very well today bring out their best am great the made us proud again am so excited this cold evening…..Drogba should always know that when God decide he decided…let him stop braging…….i Hail ona all arsenal fans out there….make we dey jolly dey go…..

  19. Congratulation Gunners. I agreed with Diane. We are playing against pensioner. As we see arsenal has a young capable player. This is the first time they play the fast counter attack. Normally they will have a script of dribbling and passing before scoring. We need to mix the tactical side in order to be champion. Anyway let enjoy the moment. Congratulation to Arsene .

  20. no Arshavin, Eboue, Denilson or Diaby in the starting line up, and we walk away with the 3 points! who would have guessed?!?

well done to Theo Walcott and Johan Djorou especially – both turned in big performances.

  21. It could’nt have come at a better time, this is AWESOME.. A sweet way to silence CheLSEA , Cole and Evra. Now they know we are not the kids. What a beatiful way to celebrate the christmas. well done WENGA.

  22. Wow, wow wow!!!!!! i feel like screaming myself out, 3 goals 3 points from our bitter rivals.
Yes, the Gunners have made it. that is the morale we needed.
can someone tell John Terry now the BOYS have become MEN….
well done Gunners, that was a super perfomance.

  23. Fabregas ur the bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt we love u alot

  24. @GunenrBoss how typical first go on putting the team down now u r like what the most loyal supporter… lol dude

  25. @GunnerBoss how typical first go on putting the team down now u r like what the most loyal supporter… lol dude

  26. Andrew, all I have to say is your boy Djourou is turning into something special.. so I guess now you can say : “I told you guys”

  27. we are prove that silly A.cole and Evra wrongs that we are mature ENOUGH. THANKS GOD. pls, dont forget to sign new faces on january will help us to claim EPL.

  28. Lets look through the mirror. Yesterdays defensive display was gud. Djorou in particular did a fantastic job against Drogba. May be SQUIL. should be on the bench because he is vulnarable on most occassions..
In as much as Chamakah is a talented player, van Persie is Technically a better player thus should start always.
Walcott was in a gud shape.

  29. We have proved we are no longer Kids…

All we need is to protect our focus from gettin shattered for the remainder of the season.

We defenitely have to do a signing that we must have done last summer….u know what its a GoalKeeper…. Shay Given or David de gea.. plss do it..

    Hail Gunners!!! Gunner for Life!!!!

  30. well, Arsenal won….. we are all happy. Please don’t forget this when they play badly. afterall, they are humans.

  31. finally….the drogba nemesis is over…….!!
but still has a lot of respect for chelsea and drogba for playing a rather clean game……
    djouroh was at his best…….!!

  32. A very, very BRILLIANT DISPLAY OF TEAM WORK! And the team still is not in full power.

The Bear celebrated with much honey last night and woke up still feeling sweet all over.

For us now to achieve our Major goals, we have to maintain our concentration and remember that we are MEN. Do not embrace the taunts of the opposition to cause us to ever hang our heads down.

All the early GOALS we have set ourselves are within reach. Now are we ready and tall enough to go the final mile???? YES WE CAN!

  33. For me Arsenal dominated the game for large periods.Djorou, sagna and clichy were fantastic in defence, the midfield trio of song, fabregas and wilshere were on song and the ever reliable nasri this term produced another superb performance and of course not forgetting the master himself, Arsene for getting the tactics spot on! A similar or slightly better performance next monday should ensure we see off Man city.

These people who keep on talking about making signings are not serious. If you look at the bench yesterday we had Arshavin, diaby, rosicky, squillaci, chamakh, bendtner. Denilson and eboue were not even part of the squad! Majority of these players would be in the starting line up of some of the biggest clubs in England if not Europe. Wenger needs to keep on fine tuning the team he already has and my feeling is the squad has enough depth to compete in all the fronts. Consistency will be key and we cannot let our heads drop for the wigan and birmingham games which are tricky away encounters but must wins.

After all is said and done, congratulations to the players and lets keep supporting the beautiful game.

  34. THEO THEO THEO THEO THEO THEO THEO>>>
HE IS FULL OF ARSENAL AT HEART>>>
THERES ONLY ONE THEO THEO THEO THEO THEO>>

  35. i made the statement on facebook yesterday that chelskie were beatable, and predicted 2-1 to us, 3-1 was effin brilliant, i am so glad i can say “i told you so” IN YOUR FACE TERRY, and after watching cole i say we got a good deal 5mil for a wanker

  36. @ Andrew….Dude, that djourou was special….it looks like the djourou you were talking about for years just came in….
Well, i loved the way they played yesterday, it was ll team work and i believe they were also keeping an eye on chelsea’s movements rather than only concentrating on their own game only;…and that is what a matured team does. Let’s see if they keep on playing this way……

  37. i think wenger should sign new dmf soon, so song can play in front…as he is bit shaky when it come to defence n he love to move forwords also he’s better in that.fabinski did simple mistake …he run for nothing which cost goal..

  38. Great result for the gunners. It made my day.Am so happy.
seeing the gunner perform without the glimpse of withered and forgotten russian made me think of great tactical decision, But now its seems feasible we buy hazard and replace the little man.
I was thinking of hazard not getting much of first team play but now he can rightly replace the arshavin
wenger plzz buy the next superstar.
    UP Gunners!!

  39. mesmerizing!fantabulous.for the first time i saw the boys press like barca do without forgetting to play with beauty!Barca should be worried as
    Feb draws nigh.hold tight goons

  40. Oh well now on to the next game i still think walcott and rvp will start the game, that’s the reason i think wenger withdrew them 20 mins before time, fabregas to miss out expect rosicky to take his place, and i think wilshire cant play that many games within the space of so many days so i think he will be rested and it will be arshavin or diaby, i did say it would be Arshavin for about 65 mins or so then diaby would come on, and the trio of arshavin nasri and rosicky to keep interchanging positions like they did against villa, would have loved to see bendtner yesterday rather than chamakh but its all well that ends well..

Speaking of young Jack who was brilliant yesterday as pointed out by shebby singh he has gradually started to like arsenal finally, i did have to say it wont be easy for Ramsey to get back in to the squad.

  41. Important win, beat Chelsea like we should and had done all those years before. Let’s not get over ourselves this is not a cup win, just another win.

We’re not Spurs who celebrate like they won something special by beating us, there’s 20 games left, lots of grinding to do for the Arsenal.

All the best to us for next yr games.

    Cheers!

  42. Well done the boys, a great win, great performance. In future John Terry should keep his big mouth shut, boasting Chelsea would give the gunners a good hammering. When he said that he must have had a few women on his mind, what a clown. Lets hope we can get wins against Wigan and Birmingham. So lets keep supporting the boys and stop the moaning.

  43. I am sorry to say that i woke up only at 2.15 am to witness the start of second half only with arsenal 1 – 0 chelsea. I am glad to see arsenal winning the match in style.

Reason that our team won the match.

Van perise held off two defenders ,held the ball himself and threated to race past them by turning direction .This forced the third defender to tackle and lay it in walcott direction or forced a mistake. This is not even tried by chamakh and loses the ball easily.Chamakh generally doesn’t tries to control the ball in the air like persie, bendtner ,adebayor or henry do.Chamakh always passes the ball back to the midfield when closed down or loses it easily.Never tries to chest the ball down and wishes to drag or keep them in foot.

Song though seem to have scored in first half .i saw him in a defensive mood yesterday
Wilshere is a class and the lad really performed a mix of offensive and defensive qualties superbly.
Fabregas played deep to get the ball and control the play though he is involved offensively for both the goals.
Walcott showed his class by defending, scoring and assisting .He is the real hero
Djourou showed a superb performance. I never felt Drogba at all yesterday except for few instances.
    Nasri was calm yesterday.

Our defense still lacks something especially when it confronts anyone near the box ,handling the pacy attack and defending with setpieces.

  44. To all those who are doubting the skill and grit of SONG, here is your answer. TTG, CC1971, JFF, Song is even better than Essien, more skillful and composed, picking up passes like Cesc, just like the one he sent to VanP. This guy is just immense and was my MOM together with Jack. He defended well, and shielded the back four and we made Chelsea just restricted to few shots outside the box. Selection was spot on, although I wanted Van P on the right and Chamack as CF but its seems the use of Walcot did wonders and Cole couldnt move forward. Walcot suprised me as at times he behaves like Ashavin and dont work hard enough for the fullback but in this game, he did. They followed all Wengers scrip tracking back and pressing Chelsea when not in possesion. We started slowly but after 30mins we took control of the game. I have always felt that if we have our first 11 players fit, we are the best in the premiership and it showed. Lets hope Van P and Cesc stays fit for other big games. The title is looking more like ours, if we can perform like this against united by scoring the first goal and picking them on the break as the press for equaliser. BELIEF is the KEY. Comon ASERNAL

  45. A sober look says we still need another center back, if only for numbers. Djourou was absolutely fantastic, much better on the right; I have always liked Koscelny, and Squillaci still has wisdom. Vermaelen is best we have, but we still don’t have him. If he had surgery 4 months ago, he might have been back by now, but there still is no guarantee he will be ready by February and the Champions League, and we will need him against Barca. With Alex out indefinitely, we will be bidding against Chelski rubles for anyone solid. Nevertheless, “Hello!” to all the doubters!

  46. Well done to the team and to AW.I was so happy with the team performance.I think this win is the turning point of our season. Some of Cheski players should be sent to Old peoples home.the like of Drog should be well over 40yrs now.We our team and our financial position I see us once we start winning silvewares dominating English football for a long time.Congrats fellow Gunners enjoy this victory it tease good.

  47. Thanks for Emirates decoration and am more happy because of the padlock used on the mouth of Drogba and let us all keep up with our professer and we hope the happy year of victories

  48. @gunnersboss
vindicated of what? RVP hasnt been available, and yesterday is the first time for months he has been match fit. the rest of the side is what is generally picked.

  49. Now watch the draws against Birmingham and Wigan. Sorry to be party pooper, but AFC always disappoint.

  50. Fantastic match ,we r back to our best.we r pressing hard,we show spirit and desire to win the game, which is shown by the celebration after the goals.COME ON GUNNERS

  51. Excellent photos Andrew,
Relived the moments of excitement !
btw, I can see there has been a flood. I hope you guys are doing OK.
Take care and keep up man

  52. Happy Holidays Gooners & Goonerettes Everywhere,
Reading the blogs this morning the consensus from the worldwide fan base is one of joyous relief!
That since 2005, this group is not just an idea in Wenger’s head but a team that can actually fulfill their potential as they did so well last night (finally). Here’s a word that isn’t used very often in connection with our club: ruthless! For me that is the best way to describe the much of our possession. The partnership of Theo and Cesc was fabulous and we purred with silky menace for large parts of the game.
Defensively we remain velunerable as we became quite nervous immediately after Ivanovic’s header, but we steeled ourselves as any good title challenger should do and continued to threaten even in the final minutes.
Great stuff, truly, and something to savour right into the new year, when we will have many more dragons to slay. Until then, Happy holidays from Canada and thanks Andrew for one of the best footy blogs anywhere. Go Gunners!

  53. I so much like how arsenal players display against chelsea and to my exceptional players like walcott,r.v.p,wilshere,song,fabregas,nasir,rosiky,djourou,sagna & clichy am wishing them the best in thier career.

  54. “Arsene Wenger should be sacked”

“Arsenal can’t cope with big teams”

“Wait until Man United and Chelsea hit form”

    “We will falter after Christmas”

“We are second in the Premiership, so we have no chance of winning the league”

“We can beat teams like Chelsea and Man City, but we can’t cope with West Brom or Newcastle”

“Chelsea were terrible, and we would struggle against them if we met them at their best”

“Man City had 10 men when we beat them”

“Man City are not a top 4 team”

“Arsenal always get out-muscled by the big clubs”

  55. I think it’s clear djourou needs to start, and start often. He sures up that back line and might have a thing or two to say when barca comes to town.

  56. I have been saying this team has no backbone and Arsene has consistently got his tactics wrong so far this season. I am pleasantly surprised but they now need to be consistent. Another few good performances and I will be more optimistic

  57. This is the Arsenal that I fell in love with 20 years ago. Full of silky skills, belief, aggression and purpose. Djourou, closely followed by Song, was my man of the match. He was awesome against Drogba, in the end Chelsea had to change their tactics of sending long balls to Drogba. Well done boys!

  58. good win by the boys, its was really exciting. i always complain abt wenger when we loose these big games and i feel he rightfully deserves the credit for winning this one. i’m just going to enjoy this until the next game.

  59. “when you’re explaining, you’re losing” the old saying goes. Class always tells and we have it!
No explanations or complaints. Play on, lads! Come Saturday, though, remember how tough Blues are to crack. (real blues that is, two decades ago Chelski were 2nd level)

  60. I know I’m late but can say the Gunners will beat any team include barca it show chelsea match

  61. arsenal for lyf bring on barcelona we await them this time around there is no campbell or silvestre to give messi pass to score lol we are the champions hahahhahahahahah

  62. Well that was a fantastic experience yesterday to see blues helpless, i was so much very happy, guys keep that form up

  63. im pleased what the the team played ,but i have same thing un cleared why arsene wenger changed the young goal keeper me my self i think the young is 100 times better than fabianski.give him chance
