Fans Reaction to Rob Holding’s performance against Nottingham Forest
Arsenal reached a new low under Arsene Wenger after Championship strugglers, Nottingham Forest dumped us out of the FA Cup at the first time of asking this season. The Gunners suffered defeat against a managerless team currently placed 14th in the second division, and many of the club’s fans have come out hard for the players, but most of the blame has been tabled at the desk of the manager.
Arsenal have now failed to get to the 4th round of the FA Cup for the first time in 21 years, and the Gunners won’t have the chance to defend the title they won in May last year. Rob Holding, the young English centre-back signed from Bolton last summer endured a shocking game, and showed nothing of the quality that makes him an Arsenal player.
Time and time again, he was left exposed alongside Mathieu Debuchy and Per Mertesacker and many Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to express their displeasure at his display. Below are some of the best tweets about his performance.
I’m sorry but Rob Holding is one of the most brain dead footballers I’ve ever seen. So fucking clumsy. Remember when Wenger was bragging that he only cost £3m. Arsenal got ripped off.

Rob Holding got some proper stick from the fans at full time. Some geezer behind me was going absolutely mental at him and he saw him. #afc

A lot of talk about Mertesacker being bad but Rob Holding was made to look like the player he was when #AFC signed him – a bottom of the league Championship CB. #NFFC

Rob Holding is not good enough. I've thought he was suspect for a while now and after another terrible performance a loan deal seems like the best option for him right now. At least he's still young. Should not be starting for Arsenal again this season. #arsenal #afc

Rob Holding getting a lot of stick, but his regression is Wenger's fault. Stones wasn't great at City to begin with, and now he's considered one of the league's best CB's. The manager has to improve and develop talent he brings in, doesn't he? #AFC

Rob Holding made his price tag of 2mn look very very costly. #AFC

Holding was left caught out for the first goal, didn’t close down for the second goal and had the inexperience to bring down a Forest player at 2-1 which Brereton duly converted to make it 3-1 to make it a famous win for the former European champions.
Despite his assured performances sometimes, especially the way he handled Diego Costa in the FA Cup final last season, he doesn’t look like Arsenal quality. The 22-year-old central defender has made 34 appearances for the Gunners, scoring once and must use any opportunity he has to play to impress.
what do expect to get when the youngsters are only playing when the regular stars are injured. How can they develop to become the quality players we all expect them to be. I’m an Arsenal fan, period, and sometimes I get mad at our one dimensional play. Blame the manager for not having plan b during games. I really do feel that Arsenal need an overhaul of management, so that our club can move forward, as we are regressing at an alarming pace.
