How Arsenal could line up with Denis Suarez (4-3-3)

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona midfielder, Denis Suarez who is growing frustrated with his lack of first team chances at the Spanish champions. Various media outlets in Spain and England suggest that Arsenal manager, Unai Emery is ready to sanction a move for the 25-year-old.

The Spaniard has made only two league appearances this term, and would be interested in a move away from the Camp Nou in a bid to revive his career. Emery knows the player well, having managed him at Sevilla in the 2014/15 campaign and we take a look at the probable formation of the Gunners should the 25-year-old make the much publicised move to The Emirates Stadium.

Goalkeeper
Bernd Leno is the undisputed number 1 at Arsenal and looks to be for the long term, he has displayed top quality since he took over from Petr Cech as the team’s starting goalkeeper.

Defence

Sead Kolasinac has shown his ability this term at left back and showed his durability during the hectic festive period. In the heart of defence, Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos should be first choice as they complement each other well. Mustafi’s awareness and anticipation matches the Greek’s brawn and no-nonsense style of defending. Hector Bellerin is the club’s undisputed right back having shown a semblance of the form that made him one of the most coveted defenders in Europe some years back.

Midfield

Lucas Torreira has come on in leaps and bounds since joining from Sampdoria and has quickly become a fan favourite. His tough-tackling and ball-winning abilities have drawn comparisons to Patrick Vieira, though he is not the physically imposing player that the legendary Frenchman was. Granit Xhaka will join him in central midfield.

The Swiss midfielder has looked assured in the middle of the park following a reduction in his defensive duties and is now showing his overall ability on the ball in terms of spraying passes and orchestrating play. Denis Suarez will be the creative hub of the team, linking the midfield to attack and trying to pick out final passes to the forward players.

Attack

On the right side of attack, Alex Iwobi looks shoe-in as the Nigerian has grown in leaps and bounds under the tutelage of Unai Emery. On the left, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should use his pace and finishing ability to torment opposition defenders while Alexandre Lacazette remains the number one striker and let’s hope he continues getting those all-important goals for the team.

Probable line-up: Leno, Kolasinac, Mustafi, Sokratis, Bellerin; Torreira, Xhaka, Suarez; Aubameyang, Iwobi, Lacazette.
