According to Sport, Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to use his friendship with Barcelona forward, Ousmane Dembele to convince the unsettled French international to join him at The Emirates Stadium.
The 21-year-old has come under scrutiny for his attitude in recent weeks with reports suggesting that the Catalan side are willing to listen to offers for the former Dortmund man as early as the January transfer window.
Dembele has struggled for consistency at the Camp Nou since his big-money move last year though he was unlucky with injuries which blighted his first campaign in Spain. This season, he has shown glimpses of his undoubted quality but has come under fire for his attitude off the pitch.
While talisman, Lionel Messi was out injured due to an arm injury, it was expected that Dembele would use the opportunity to show his quality but head coach, Ernesto Valverde opted for Rafinha amidst reports of a falling out between the pair.
Unai Emery, the Arsenal manager is a big admirer of Dembele and will push ahead for a move in the winter transfer window. The injury to Daniel Welbeck and inconsistency of Henrikh Mkhitaryan means that The Gunners need a new winger, and Dembele fits the bill perfectly.
He is a close friend of Aubameyang from their time together in Germany with Dortmund while Dembele is also said to be close friends with a number of Arsenal players including Alex Iwobi.
