Arsenal table £60m for supposed Sanchez replacement, player wants EPL move

Daily Star reports that Arsenal have tabled a £60 million bid for Monaco superstar, Thomas Lemar ahead of a potential January move.

The same report suggests that the Frenchman is keen on a move to the Premier League and the French outfit are also open to selling their superstar once an irresistible offer is received.

The French attacker has been earmarked as a direct replacement for contract rebel, Alexis Sanchez who is destined to leave the Emirates this month provided a fee in the region of £30 million is received and a replacement is in place.

The Frenchman was heavily linked with a big money move to the Emirates in the summer as a potential replacement for Manchester City bound Alexis Sanchez but both deal failed to materialised on deadline day with the winger deciding to stay at the Stade Louis II and eventually scuppered the Chilean move to the Etihad.

However, the Chilean striker who has been the subject of a two-way transfer battle between the Manchester clubs with both sides keen on signing the wantaway star this winter has prompted the Gunners to revive their interest in Thomas Lemar.

The French international began his career at French side Caen in 2013 but moved to Monaco in 2015 for a reported fee of £3.4 million.

The 22-year-old attracted the attention of top clubs around Europe in the 2016/17 season having set a career high of 14 goals and providing 17 assists in 55 appearances as the Red and Whites stunned favorites PSG to win the league and also got to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

He is known for his pace, excellent dribbling skills, passing, creativity, vision, good link-up play, long shots and also a set-piece specialist.

Alexis Sanchez’s departure will leave a big void at Arsenal but Wenger going for Thomas Lemar makes perfect sense given his age and massive potential, he would definitely add quality and dynamism to the Gunners attack.
