Arsenal Risk Losing Out on Thomas Partey

Arsenal has been dealt a potential transfer blow after Serie A giants Juventus entered the race to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey this summer, according to a report in Italy.

Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, reports that the Gunners are running the risk of losing out on the Ghana international’s signature as the Serie A champions prepare an attractive offer for the Atletico Madrid defensive midfielder.

The Daily Mirror claims further on their website that Juventus are ready to offer either Douglas Costa or Federico Bernardeschi as part of a makeweight in a deal to sign the Ghanaian midfielder from the Spanish side in the 2020 summer transfer window. At the moment, Partey is currently at 33/100 with online casinos real money to join the Gunners this summer window.

According to the same story, the Serie A title holders are confident the La Liga giants will do business with them given that Costa Bernardeschi is both valued at around £45m, which is thought to be the value of Partey’s current contract release clause.

It is suggested that the Serie A outfits offer could complicate Arsenal’s attempt for the Ghanaian midfielder signing after Atletico Madrid rejected the north London side’s offer of £22.5m plus Matteo Guendouzi for Partey.

While reports claim Partey is interested in a move for Arsenal, the 27-year-old could be tempted by the lure of playing for the Italian champions as well as competing in the UEFA Champions League.

Partey scored three goals and received 13 yellow cards in 35 games in the Spanish top flight last season to help Atletico Madrid finish in third place behind Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. He has been a mainstay of Diego Simeone’s midfield since breaking into the Atletico team in the 2014-15 season after coming through their youth system.

Arsenal won the FA Cup in Mikel Arteta’s first season in charge of the north London outfit to secure a spot in the Europa League next season but the Gunners ended up in the eighth position in the Premier League table.

After leading the Gunners to FA Cup glory following his mid-season appointment, The Spanish boss will be keen to kick on with a rebuilding program. In such a scenario, online casino new zealand is offering odds on a number of transfer specials, and these are the players rated most likely to switch to north London.

The Gunners completed the signing of Willian on a free transfer from Chelsea FC on Friday. How the transfer saga will pan in the coming weeks of the summer transfer remains to be seen.

  1. If Partey does not come there are other alternatives. For instance the Roma guy…Diawara I think. Are we exploring those options?
