Announcement imminent as club signs Arsenal target replacement, fans delighted

Arsenal are moving closer to potentially signing Ever Banega.

The Argentine midfielder’s club, Sevilla, signed a potential replacement in Roque Mesa, who joins on a permanent deal from Swansea, perhaps as a precaution in case their man decides to leave.

The Andalusian outfit appear confident that the former Las Palmas man, who made seven appearances after joining on loan from Swansea in January, can do what Banega does should the latter decide to leave the Ramon Sanchez Pijuan.

Some of our fans have been excited on social media with this news, sending passionate pleas to the Arsenal hierarchy to make a move for Banega.

Unai Emery needs little encouragement: he feels the 30-year-old would be the perfect replacement for Jack Wilshere, who is leaving the club following the expiration of his contract.

Benega, who has been one of Argentina’s better performers in their dismal World Cup campaign, offers composure in possession. He has an excellent passing range that allows him to dictate play while he is also comfortable with his defensive duties.

Those qualities not only make him a complete midfield player – barring perhaps a shortage of goals with 30 in his club career – they also make him the ideal player to rotate with Granit Xhaka.

His arrival would give us depth that is much-needed ahead of a campaign that sees us compete not just for three domestic trophies, but also for the Europa League.

Emery is slowly shaping the squad in his image, as he has brought in the likes of Bernd Leno and Stephan Lichtsteiner, while the signings of Lucas Torreira and Sokratis Papastathopoulos are imminent.

  1. We still need a big player signing, it worried me the age of all these players we’re getting. Experience is good and we need that, but for the fans to really get on board and for the balance on the field, we need youth. Just one big signing, a 50\60million player and this arsenal could go places. The left back from real would do nicely.
