Arsenal superstars, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are reportedly teaming up in their quest to get improved contracts at Arsenal. The Chilean and German are entering the final year of their contracts and have rejected all offered by the Gunners hierarchy
It is believed that the players’ representatives are in regular discussions that will enable them reach an unwavering ground in a bid to extend their contract with the London club. Sanchez has been linked to Bayern Munich, while Ozil has not yet been linked to any big club, but if he releases a statement about his availability, a host of clubs will queue up to sign him.
The pair were instrumental in Arsenal’s FA cup triumph last Saturday, as they defeated Chelsea 2-1 on the day, which brought their third Cup victory in 4 years. Ozil signed for Arsenal in 2013 from Real Madrid and won the Cup in his first season while Sanchez followed a year later in a £35m deal from Barcelona a year later that ensured that the Gunners could also boast two world class players in their ranks following years of mediocre performances.
With Ozil and Sanchez joining forces to force Arsenal into giving them £300k a week contracts, the club could be forced into making a decision on who will be the priority player that they will keep.
Sanchez is reportedly close to a move to Bayern Munich and with the Gunners extending Arsene Wenger’s deal and promising to invest in more quality players next season, he could decide to stay and help the club mount a serious title assault next season.
Ozil, 28, has been criticized for his laid back performances since joining from Madrid four years ago, but has consistently proven his doubters wrong by playing well in big games, none so than the victory over Chelsea last Saturday.
