‘Very versatile, I rate him’ – Chelsea fans eager to welcome Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Arsenal player, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is set for a stunning switch to London rivals, Chelsea in a £35m deal that will see him swap the Emirates Stadium for Stamford Bridge. Chamberlain, who is entering into the final year of his Arsenal contract and has refused all entreaties to extend the contract, will join up with the Premier league champions, in yet another blow to Arsenal who lost to Liverpool in a calamitous 4-0 defeat at Anfield yesterday.

Goal reports that the Blues will step up their pursuit of the player, with personal terms still to be agreed.

The 23-year-old player is keen for more playing time in a central role after going frustrated with Arsene Wenger who has used him was a wing back since switching to a three-man defence last term. Skysports reported earlier this afternoon that the player is set to join Chelsea, who are looking at making a number of signings before the end of the transfer window which closes on Thursday.

The blues look to maintain a recent upturn in form after a disastrous opening day loss at home to Burnley. Chamberlain looked uninterested as Arsenal capitulated at Liverpool, and will now head to West London hoping to finally kickstart a career that offered so much at the beginning.

Chelsea fans have been in dreamland as to the signing of Chamberlain as the transfer fee is being mooted at around £35m though it has not been confirmed by either club.

Chelsea look to have recovered from the loss to Burnley with two consecutive victories over Tottenham and Everton, and face Leicester at the King Power stadium after the international break.

The England international is a versatile player that will offer Antonio Conte a variety of options. He is fast, can dribble and above all, he can create goals. He joined Arsenal in 2011 from Southampton and has made 196 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 20 times and has won 3 FA Cup trophies in that time.
