Three players likely to complete Arsenal transfer this summer

Arsenal started the season on a strong note with a 4-3 triumph over Leicester City last week and seem to be currently operating with a strong team. Despite an early dive into the transfer market, manager Arsene Wenger have only managed to bring in two players but would have to do better than that as several of their key players are in the final year of their deal and could be leaving before the transfer window slams shut.

On July 19, the Arsenal fans woke to news of Wojciech Szczęsny’s departure to Juventus shortly after his return from loan at Roma and here we bring you three possible players who could follow his lead before the end of the month:

Alexis Sanchez: The Chilean’s top performance for the Gunners last season has made him a top target for several elite club and has particularly been linked with a move to Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Although Wenger has continuously insisted Sanchez is not for sale this summer, but betting offers by online bookmakers suggest otherwise, however, the odds of Sanchez joining PSG sits at 7/4 whilst Manchester City are 4/1 odds on to sign him according to ladbrokes. The odds keep decreasing as days go by and the Sanchez’ latest visit to Paris on Monday has seen the odds of him leaving Arsenal plummet tremendously.

The player has so far bypassed every opportunity to pen an extension and that is a clear indication he is not ready to settle. The Chile international has openly expressed his desires of working with Pep Guardiola once again after he was sold by Barcelona while Guardiola was in charge. The 28-year-old who contributed 24 goals in 38 appearances to Arsenal’s campaign last season could be heading to the Etihad, lured by Champions League football

Jack Wilshere: According to the Daily Mirror, Wilshere has been informed that he does not feature in the club’s plan for the new season. Wilshere would prefer staying at the Emirates and even went as far as demoting himself to the Under-23s just to prove his worth to the manager. Rafa Benitez of Newcastle United has indicated interest in the player after it was obvious Wilshere was resigned to leave the club. The likes of West Ham, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth have also been rumored with interest in the player and with his contract at its tail end, he could be available for a cut-price bargain.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: Rumors of ‘The Ox’ leaving Arsenal have abound all through the summer with Liverpool touted as a possible destination. Even with a World Cup spot on the line, it seems Chamberlain is intent on leaving the Emirates after rejecting the club’s latest attempt to get him to commit his future. Many may be heartbroken to see the back of Oxlade-Chamberlain as there is no doubt he is still yet to fulfil his potential.
