The progress of the Arsenal FC Blog

What is there to do at the Arsenal FC Blog?

With genuine news about Arsenal at a premium at the moment I thought I’d take the time to have a little bit of a spiel about the progress of the Arsenal FC Blog so far and point out some of the newest additions to the blog.

When I started the blog just over three months ago the purpose of the site was simple: to be the most interesting, unique and thorough source of fun for everything related to Arsenal. Too many blogs and sites out there provide biased insights into football opinions and I want to provide a forum for anyone to have their say on anything. Blogs like this should challenge your mind and give you the opportunity to share your insights and opinions about the things you love; and in this case I of course mean football.

I just want to finish off by giving a shout out to the likes of Samuel, Darragh, Knightman, GunnerShabzHarlan, Shravan, MichaelGooner4Ever, Indigunner, and of course Joshua Asante for helping make the Arsenal FC Blog – in my humble opinion – a great place to talk about anything to do with the Arsenal Football Club. I am hoping that as this blog inevitably grows it will remain the place where you guys and many other Arsenal fans can discuss football in a positive and friendly environment.

All the best,

  1. When I first came in this blog I thought that I found a special blog just by seeing the look of it. I’m from france but I’m a huge fan of english football and specialy of ARSENAL. But the thing is that in france you can’t find a nice website for any english clubs! So arsenalfcblog.com is the best blog I know on arsenal because we can talk freely different things. Usually i don’t write on blogs but here it’s really different!
So the only thing I going to say about this blog is “don’t change it!”

    Suck-up! 🙂
Tottenham are going for Guily and i’m gonna be pissed off if they get him, he’s yet another player who’d be worthy of our left-midfield problems: French, left-sided, until this season, a regular starter at Barcalona, experienced, still worth a punt.

  3. thanks mate, thank you very much… well we are civilised people in ere, its not like gunner blog there some pyschos in there.

anyways man, yeah i always read ya blog… very interesting… we love arsenal but we respect other teams achievements and history (expect chelsea)

    anyways, back to the football

samuel, for some reason a lot of players go for spurs but they reject the “big clubs”

apparently younus kaboul reject chelsea, lyon and juventus for the spuds….

now zakora mention the same thing am sure there were more players… why is this??

kaboul i do rate, he is a good player am suprised we didnt go for him but then again i thought of that of zakora which am glad we didnt get

obafemi martins, u know id be glad to see him at arsenal if we really are interested.

carlos tevez, no point i dont think wenger will get involved in such a deal, i always thought this… am suprised united wanting to sign him, they need a out and out striker, but i dont mind man utd have made this summer transfer market more expensive, a lot of teams compare it to there spending i.e. anderson and nani transfers

so we can nick in for klass-jan huntelaar, there are rumours juventus are really interested and keeping on a eye on him. but this is one player id love to see at the arsenal

like i said spanish i think we dont get any wingers which we all know we need, we are going for the 4-3-3 attack and 4-5-1 defending and counter attacking.

rosicky, hleb, fabregas are central players.

hleb slows the attack down and gets eboue in…

rosicky loves to play off the strikers

    fabregas loves to dictate

gilberto well he is the “invisible wall”

now if wenger is using eduardo as the left sided attacker

robin van persie on the right hand side…

bendtner and adeboyor as the strikers

hopefully manu adey as learned to finish, he has got technique just needs more confidence and compusure and am sure we will get this from him

    anyways… back to u guys

  4. just watching the under 20s world cup

alexandre pato is an excellent prospect, i heard chelsea, milan, real and inter after him.. this guy will be a big star, we should get him.. offers for £10m will be accepted, we cant let this guy go to chelsea.

renato augusto has got the same technique as kaka, but they aint similar but very good player, bit lightweight but has got bags of potential.

ever bangera this guy is the new riquelme, he has got the technique and is a play maker as well, this guy is in the fabregas league.

mauro zarate, new batistuta, great goalscorer as well

angel di maria, very good left sided player, i heard we was linked with him few weeks back in some blog i think it was arsenal shorts, this guy is good

freddy adu, he is having a great cup and he is a good player and usa did beat brazil as well

giovani dos santos this guy am sure people know about, the mexicans have very good players as well and a few we can get. patrice aruago is a good defender, carlos vela we have…

fabio ceontro of portugal very slick player, in the cristano ronaldo, querasma league but he signed with benfica

did some scouting now, if we want youngsters these are players at the moment

  5. Just watching the under 20s world cup Freddy Adu is an excellent prospect, this guy will be a big star years to come. Why not signing him to Arsenal my dear club.

  6. I see the usual suspects are back :). I love it how we get straight back to the football. At those younger level World Cups there is always some great prospects and it’s difficult to tell who will integrate into life at a big club well. As for Guily, Samuel, he would definitely be a welcome addition to the Arsenal side. If Tottenham get him I would be most disappointed.

  7. Couldn’t agree more. I honestly cannot wait to see who Arsenal sign next – you just get the feeling it’s going to be someone totally random.

  8. jose antonio reyes deal is on the table, just to agree a fee

would they release robinho, they said they would accept £12m bids.

i dont care what anyone says, if robinho arrived at arsenal that would be a huge signing

  9. Please let’s forget about Guily and Saviola they are all dead horse. We want players who can serve the club for a longer period,
    PL,Robinho,Freddy Adu,Ryan Babel,Alexandre pato,Jan Huntelaar,Samuel Eto’o,Obafemi Martins,and Messi.

  10. No. We have got the best youngsters for less than a million each for years. Fuck off should Arsene spend 10 million we don’t have on possibly the next ronaldinho. Everyone else has one sure but we have Merida who could be great, just as Pato could be great.
Eto’o and Messi are in a different league from those other players as in they are all players who could be world class as opposed to those at barca who are, and happy where they are.
Freddy Adu would be awesome. And Huntelaar and Saviola seem the only great strikers left on the market, but then no-one knew Eduardo was open.
We don’t need a striker, we’d ‘like one’. WE NEED WIDTH, and if it doesn’t come soon, it’s from copa america.

  11. Yoan Gouffran

similar to the legendary theirry henry

he got the same height, same stance, same build

this guy will be our new “theirry henry”

he maybe signed within this week…..

  12. well, arsenal’ll be the next champ of epl next season.Their mortal enemy liverpool will suck.By the way,i think arsenal should sign huntelaar. With this.there’ll be a dutch pair in arsenal’s forward. That’s fantastic and i strongly believe that dutch football style will secure arsenal’s place as a leader in european field.Lehmann should retire earlier, and almunia can replace his place in fewer months.Lehmann has been crap since the fifa WORLD CUP 2006 and that’s the chance for the almunia, the spaniard to shine. All the best, arsenal.Arsena Wenger, please don’t leave arsenal because it needs u.Your style fits arsenal well and that’s the right blend for the gunners. If u people agree with me,pls e-mail me at royal_cyw@hotmail.com.Gunners the best, lol

  13. wow am thrilled to see my name up there :D.Great to see bloggers appreciating their readers.

todays gunnerblog article says that there are reports that we have signed Yoan Goufrann.

i checked wikipedia abt this guy and to my surprise it says
“English club Arsenal F.C. are reported to have signed Gouffran on a 4 year contract . However next season he will be loaned back to Caen.”

  14. The source for Gouffran is the French version of Football365.com, so it’s by no means overly reliable. Even if it is true, the loan will mean that he will have no impact on Arsenal’s squad for next season.

  15. Arsenal still to announce the signing of Bakary Sagna and Obafemi Martins.

  16. I have been posting at gunnerblog for the past week and no disrespect to gilbertosilver who writes a cracking blog, but fuck me the people that post there are ridiculous:
Hill-Wood, someone who himself and his family have run Arsenal for 70 odd years or so is supposedly a traitor and a liar who’s single aim is to crush Arsenal football club.
We are doomed. Anyone who thinks positively, or even that we may be stagnant for a couple years is a cunt.
Eduardo is shit and a cunt even though we haven’t seen him play. We should have signed Eto’o even though he isn’t for sale.
Wenger is shit and a cunt. Anyone that doesn’t buy the biggest name players or English players deserves to die. The past two years we have failed because of this and not because of readjustments and the new stadium. It doesn’t matter that this has never worked in the past and that he is the most successful manager we’ve had. He should leave or be burned at the stake.
Fabregas should be burned with him. Even though he will possibly be our best player next season, the player that the team really depends on at the moment, he should leave because he isn’t media savvy and because he is a teenage Barcalona supporter.

I read something the other day about how why the internet sucks compared to print journalism and I agreed. For all the benefits of being easy to get, voice of the people etc. it doesn’t edit the voice of the people. In fact, all people can talk. Including the crazys. Especially the crazys.

I’m glad none of them have infected this place yet and that they just talk about food instead on arseblog.

  17. I still trust Arsene Wenger!
There is no chance of Chelsea,Spurs or anyone else like that doing better than Arsenal just because they’re spending more money.
    ”Arsenal is Arsenal”.

  18. i agree samuel, u get some fools on gunnerblog, the author is a good guy, but some comments on there are stupid

i love arsenal, wenger has done miracles, we went 49 unbeaten, name me any other manager who has done that in english football.

wenger loves to buy, hungry potential players, he always done this, hence the reason we always linked to eto’o before he become a superstar, hence the reason fernando torres was looked at before he became a superstar

same with henry, vieira, pires, ljungberg, sylvinho, edu, cole

these players were good players but became class…

this is what wenger does, we wont sign big name players, never

eduardo da silva, he maybe some unknown fucker but he is hungry, he got desire to do well and is a huge talent

“diamond in a rough” thats wenger policy

rvp, fabregas, eboue, toure, clichy, all players potential and are gems

wenger is making into world class players

these fans have to know this, hence the reason we linked with the bakari sagna’s, yoan gouffran’s, ryan babel’s,

these are the players wenger likes and will transform them

we aint like chelsea, man utd or liverpool they want established players

why u think rafa benitez went out and bought like 10 young players, he realised after our “kids” thrashed his team at anfield

man utd, fergie knows u need good youth

chelsea are now nicking youngsters everywhere

we been doing this for years and chelsea and liverpool catching up now.

this blog has some realistic arsenal fan which i admire

    peace

  19. Yeah it is good that everyone who has something to say on here generally adds to the debate without ruining it with irrational or abusive comments. Keep it up. I will always do my best to keep the comments forum clean and tidy so you have nothing to worry about in that regard.

  20. I agree with the comments on Arsenal requiring a lot more width, however I feel that, like many people have pointed out, is a player who can finish. If Adebayor and Baptista had converted half their missed opportunities in the tail end of last season, Arsenal would have comfortably come third, and perhaps would have challenged for second. My hope is that Da Silva can fulfill this role.

I feel for the guy, he has a lot of pressure on him for next season. Whether he likes it or not, he’s the first signing after Henry has left, and therefore will be seen as his potential successor.

Also, many thanks for the name-check. I really enjoy reading the blog.

  21. Cheers mate. I don’t know if Eduardo has as much pressure on him as you’re suggesting though. Any knowledgeable Arsenal fans will know he has not been brought in to directly replace Henry, he will be used as a third striker along with Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor. I think out of the three players van Persie will have the most pressure to perform after last year’s excellent showing. Adebayor will be feeling the pressure as well because a lot of Arsenal supporters seem to be on his back about his inability to get goals. Also guys, apologies for the lack of posts in the last couple of days – a big post will be coming later tonight/tomorrow.

  22. Ryan Babel has the potential to be the next Thierry Henry,Why not signing him this summer?
Ryan Babel will make us very successful for the years to come,I think it will be Arsenal’s dream come true.

  23. I think Babel has indicated that he would like to come to Arsenal, but will spending the next season with Ajax. These are his quotes from the BBC:

“Reports about Arsenal are nothing more than rumours. Nothing concrete has happened. Next season I definitely play at Ajax. There will be a time I play at Arsenal. But there’s nothing at the moment.”

  24. heard that liverpool are after babel.whats with these guys??

i hate these so called big clubs 🙁

  25. liverpool are really going for it aint they, they been linked with wingers all summer now

    ricardo querasma, mancini, simao,

these players would be welcome in my eyes for arsenal

but the thing is why wenger so secretive is because he does not want to pay over the odds, when teams like chelsea, liverpool or man utd interested, foriegn teams know they can milk it.

  26. I think Liverpool are only going for Babel as their 5th choice. The world is going crazy because there seems to only be 6 or 7 wingers available in Europe at the moment, and everyone needs one.
The story supposedly goes Steve Rowley scouted Babel personally for Wenger, said he wasn’t good enough or the next Henry. Which fair enough, we already have like 5 of, he should know.
We play Barnet this week, so I assume Wenger will do his first press conference of the summer too? And other than Sagna and possibly that Goufrann fella, I am resigned to waiting till copa america is over for signings.

  27. Also, what’s the odds on Saviola? I know the boss likes him but would he come? Saviola-Van Persie-Adeybayor-Eduardo-Bendtner seems like dynamite in rotation.

  28. Saviola would be amazing. Noone really knows what is going on with him so for all we know Wenger could be wheeling and dealing behind the scenes.

  29. I’m not sure William Gallas knows more than Arsene Wenger,he must be kicked out of the club immediately to set an sample to others.
What William Gallas has done is abomination.
