Quick pre-West Ham game update

Today’s post is a very quick one without much insight or opinion. This is something I hate doing and I hope you can forgive me for it.

The reason for it is simple: the AFL Grand Final is on today and it’s probably the one sporting event I would never, ever miss. Even above the World Cup Final or Champions League Final. Seriously. So I’ve simply included today’s important news with links provided if you want to go into them in more detail.

Alexander Hleb has recovered from injury and should start against West HamFirstly, some good news with Alexander Hleb passed fit for the game with West Ham. He should slot in on the right and I have to say with Theo Walcott not playing well and Emmanuel Eboue and Denilson playing a full 90 minutes midweek the I’m very about this. However, there was some bad news with Eduardo da Silva dropping out of the squad with a groin injury. Maybe he’s been hanging out with William Gallas a bit too much. You can read my full preview of the game from yesterday’s post here.

Secondly, West Ham manager Alan Curbishley has mentioned that ex-Arsenal player Fredrik Ljungberg has given him some insights in how Arsenal will play. I honestly don’t think it will help them much.

Finally, Arsene Wenger has had some things to say about some doubts he had about signing a new contract with the club as well as the real reasons for Thierry Henry’s departure. They definitely make for interesting reading and I’ll be going into the comments about Henry in more detail soon.

That’s about it. Also just want to give you a quick reminder about the Arsenal FC Blog eMagazine competition running this week that started yesterday. You can check it out here. Please remember to send in entries via the contact form rather than by posting comments because, as I said yesterday, they won’t be accepted.

And that’s about it. Go Arsenal and go the Cats!
