Picture: Henrikh Mkhitaryan looks perfect in an Arsenal jersey if he completes transfer

With 28-year-old Armenian international, Henrikh Mkhitaryan closing in on a deal to join Arsenal, there are reports that his wage demands could still hamper the deal. The Manchester United player has been included in the player plus cash deal United are offering Arsenal to sign Alexis Sanchez but is reportedly having reservations about joining the Gunners, which is said to be the only delay in the Sanchez moving to Old Trafford.

The classy playmaker has struggled yet again this season to maintain a first team spot under Jose Mourinho, but has been offered the chance to resurrect his career at The Emirates with Arsenal.

However, Daily Record reports that the player wants the same wages offered to Alexis Sanchez, which the player rejected before he makes the move to north London. Arsenal offered Sanchez wages in the region of £300k-a-week deal, but the player rejected the deal as he had his heart set on leaving the FA Cup holders.

This new twist in the deal could hamper the deal as it is not clear whether Arsenal would be willing to pay him that amount for a player that often struggles with consistency issues. However, here’s how Mhkitaryan would look in an Arsenal jersey if both parties reach a compromise.

His agent, Mino Raiola spoke to The Times recently about the deal and said, “Manchester United are not going to sign Sanchez unless Mkhi agrees to join Arsenal.

“Mkhi is going to do what is best for him. He has two-and-a-half years left on his contract, so it’s his decision

”The deal is being held up by the reservations that Mkhitaryan has about the prospect of not playing Champions League football, the club’s current league position and the fact that he is being offered a pay cut.

Still, the deal is expected to go through after he was left out of United’s squad to face Stoke on Monday night, that led to more speculation about his future: a sign that time is ticking on his United career.
