I want Arsenal! I want Arsenal! I want Arsenal!

The International Break is really starting to drag on. While it was nice to see Australia edge microscopically close to a World Cup place after beating Uzbekistan, I can’t deny that watching my home country play in games like that just doesn’t give me the same rush as a typical Arsenal game.

The good news is that the next Arsenal game is edging ever closer as the squad returns from all parts of the world to prepare for Saturday’s clash with Manchester City. It looks like we’ll be missing Nicklas Bendtner, Robin van Persie and Abou Diaby for the trip but Cesc Fabregas, Emmanuel Adebayor and Eduardo will return.

Cesc is lacking match fitness but both Adebayor and Eduardo scored for their respective countries and will be desperate to stake their claim for a starting spot in the (probable) absence of Bendtner and van Persie. Aside from that it’s likely to be a fairly balanced side with the usual suspects in defence and the excellence of Andrey Arshavin and Samir Nasri on the wings. More will surely be confirmed by Arsene Wenger in tomorrow’s pre-game press conference.

Aside from that I’ve not got much more to say except that “I want Arsenal!”

  1. Watching Scotland has been very stressful. Bring on the Gunners.

I think Ade and Eduardo will be hungry and both are in good form, so maybe the change upfront will prove to be a blessing in disguise. Isn’t it great to have so many quality forward players to turn to?

Let’s hope we get revenge on Saturday and edge a little closer to third!

  2. International break = perfect cure for insomnia.
Bring on some real footy! Citeh on Saturday then Villarreal on tuesday. I cant wait

  3. Same here, the waitin is killin me,would like to see ade and eddy up front, come matchday. Can still remember all the havoc they caused, before eddy go injured last season, with cesc likely to pull the strings from midfield, andy and samir on the wings,song/deni doing what they´ve been doing in the last 4,5 matches,(intercept and iniciate play)and our solid four of sagna,kolo/JD gallas clichy, and our steadily improving no 1 AL. with a line up like this, hmm cant wait till saturday.COME ON GUNNERS:

  4. So, Arshavin won the player of the month award, he deserved it. and Bendy played for about an hour yesterday, so he should be fit for Saturday. So only Diaby and RvP who are injured, i dont think we’ll miss them that much.

  5. this is going to be the real revenge for us, cant wait to see Arsha to play a long side with Ade, and again Villareal agn on saturday.Thou, one thing that i really miss is the abscence of walcott, apart from everything look good.

  6. @ lompri

We’ll have to for AWs confrence tomorrow. He’ll tell us who will be available for City.

  7. Almunia
    Sagna, Toure, Gallas, Clichy
    Arshavin, Fabregas, Song, Nasri
    Eduardo, Adebayor

I would like to see Fabregas start and if we can get an early goal (or two) bring him off after 50-60 mins for Denilson or Ramsey.

Also, I noticed Sagna played for France. I reckon he’s played more than anyone this season – we should really be looking to give him a break at some point!!

  8. Bendter, Ade, Walcott and Cesc are back. RvP, Diaby, Vela, Dudu are out however Vela can be usedc if needed. therefore i think the team will be:
    Almunia
    Sagna – Toure – Gallas – Clichy
    Walcott – Song – Deni – Nasri
    Arshavin – Adebayor

  9. There you have it. Nasri (flu), Eduardo and RvP (groin), Diaby (thigh) and Vela (err… fatigue) are all out. Theo, Cesc and Ade are available. So i reckon this will be our lineup.

    Al
    Sagna,Gallas,Toure,Clichy
    Walcott,Cesc,Deni/Song,Arsha
    Ade,Bendy

Its not a bad team. Maybe Bendy will switch to the left every now and then allowing Arsha to play behind Ade.

  10. Well, that great news, with d players coming back then our chances is bright up again.

  11. Long time no see guys.

‘m waiting to see fully fit Fabregas alongside Arshavin, Nasri and Walcott in the midfield. There is no doubt that it’s gonna be magical. Pace + imagination. That’s what Arsenal football is about.

Adebayor is back. I don’t want him to get the starting spot directly. But I suspect he will.

  12. I want an Adebayor goal… something cheeky like that volley he had against Newcastle last year.

  13. The fact that we have a further 5 players injured because of the internationals is so so so annoying.
    We should be given compensation!

  14. I take it there is a good chance we will be missing RVP for the UCL game this week? Thats a bog blow. Hopefully Eduardo is ready…

  15. all i can say is Arsenal is back!!we can do the impossible,it wont be a wonder if we finish 2nd place of the PL table,im very optimistic

  16. The prospect of seeing the mighty midfield of arsenal is compelling.

    walcott, arshavin, fabregas, nasri

    cant wait…

  17. lol SF
I was sad to see austrailia beat my home country Bahrain but i was slightly alleviated when the i thought “hey SF is from there” lol
    CHEERS Mate!!

  18. I just wish that Diaby didn’t get that much injuries. I love watching him play,he is a bit sloppy, but with time he ccould be like the great Patrick Vieira.

  19. I take it there is a good chance we will be missing RVP for the UCL game this week? Thats a bog blow. Hopefully Eduardo is ready…
