Four goals will see us go top. I think we might get five.

On paper today’s home clash with Burnley looks a cakewalk.

They are yet to win away from home, picking up just one point from fourteen away games this season, and currently have the worst away record this season. Meanwhile our home record is strong, our performances in the last couple of games has been good and we’re on a bit of a roll at the moment.

The injury to Aaron Ramsey will ensure that any complacency going into this game will be ironed out. The Arsenal boys know the media is on them at the moment and they will be waiting for anything to keep selling papers; a bad Arsenal tackle, a half-hearted physical performance. Anything.

It won’t happen though. Our team will be ready to send another message out to everyone that we are the team to beat, that we can cope with this sort of scrutiny and we deserve our billing as title contenders.

The early kick-off means a four-goal win would see us move to the top of the table, albeit briefly. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen. Honestly, I can see us scoring five or six.

Team news going into the game is mixed, Ramsey won’t be there, Alex Song misses out due to a two-game ban and Sol Campbell has surprisingly been ruled out. William Gallas will not return while Andrey Arshavin, Denilson and Abou Diaby will all be back in the squad.

The changes means Mikael Silvestre will slot in alongside Thomas Vermaelen at the back. The onus on attack may see Emmanuel Eboue play at right-back like he did against Sunderland, with Bacary Sagna benched.

Midfield will be Denilson, Cesc Fabregas and probably Abou Diaby, although the manager may see playing two just-returned players as being a little risky and draft in Tomas Rosicky or Samir Nasri to help out. Up front Nicklas Bendtner will be supported by two of Rosicky, Nasri, Arshavin, Eduardo or Theo Walcott.

I don’t expect us to take Burnley lightly and it is for that reason that I think we will beat them comprehensively.

I’m looking forward to it.

  3. Im in Africa nd Kenya to be specific, nd the media here too are hard on Arsenal, i guess it just shows what a great team we support, but the british media need to get a life… As for today, i know the lads will do us proud. Go Gunners Go….

  4. I got this feeling as well that we going to end the season the way we started by winning our games with wide margins, we need to increase our Goal Difference as well

  5. I have one extra ticket in North End Upper Tier for today’s game vs. Burnely. 40 Pound ticket.

  6. Our success is quite sure today.having seeing the injury of our dear and beloved brother-ramsey,the fire of winning d league must not burn out in d heart of the boyz.young shall grow!

  7. The dramatic change in our defense, I mean the introduction of none other than silvester, is disheartening. I don’t this guy coz of the way he panics in defense. If it was against Stoke we would have lost of course.

Hoping he will prove me wrong. You guys who are in Sports view hotel Kireka I am the way coming, better let me know where exactly you are. See you then.
Scoring 4 goals will be a little difficult, but all we need is a win after all.

  8. Let’s prove this season to our skeptics that, “even a crowing cock was once an egg.” By so doing the media will be a shamed and it will be good to hear what the media will say.

    Good game to you all.

  9. its going to be a crunchy one but like i did say b4 d stoke game, d “boy” r fired up & up 2 d task of dishin out d tackles as dey come, whcih c 1 thing they ve added 2 dia game dis ve of the season. 10. fark yeah, can’t wait to see the boys play tonight and go top……
    c’mon you reeeeedddddssss!!!!!

  11. Going top would be a real statement of intent but let’s not get carried away, three points are what we need today.

A strong performace, continuing where we left off, would be a nice bonus.

Can’t wait. Really feel the tides have turned in our favour.

  12. Start 2nd half.
Question: How many chances will St.Nick need to convert one?

  13. Are you guys still thinking that clown Bendtner is a striker? 52. What a joke!

  14. briefly my thoughts during that match (I just could watch the second half)
    @Andy optimist :mrgreen:
    MoM: Niclas Bendtner
    Shava: finally again
Theo: I just thought why don’t he pass? ???????? and then the ball was in the net
    whole team: motivation 10 points 😉 😀

  15. good win today after the inter break. dont know wat it is about this team but i have confidence in them even if they go 1 down or the other team scores one back, i just know we will go on and score another.

  16. haven,t seen the game yet, heard cesc went off injured hope its nothing serious need him for porto on tuesday, heard on the radio bendtner missed numerous chances AGAIN. shall have to watch match of the day so be back to comment on the game tomorrow. come on fulham knock the scum out of the cup.

  17. Happy to see the team pick up three, and to see Theo score a goal after his week of criticism. He could’ve had at least three assists, but Bendtner just had one of those days. I hope that the Fab sub was just precautionary. Also really happy to see Arshavin back and scoring.

  18. 3-1. I can’t believe the missed chances by Bendtner today, he has the habilities of a great striker but he has no confidence in the final touch. That’s something Wenger must work in with him this week.

Walcott was outstanding today, also Nasri. We are still giving fight for the title. come on you gunners!

  19. bendtner has all the confidence in the world,he just doesnt hav the knack of a defoe or wright….simply hes not a goalscorer,i love the guy for wot he brings to the team, and he is a committed whole hearted player….i think all arsenal fans will like him if they open up to wot he brings instead of focusing on his clumsiness and ineptness when in on goal….he cud help himself in this area if he stopped bigging himself up all the time as hes not as good as he thinks in reality…he cud be helped by fans not hyping him up aswel..hel never be a 25 goal a season guy….never….but he is an important player for us bo doubts about it!
great to win but was dissapointed to come on here readin today that wer gonna win by 5 or 6….again its presumptious and without foundation,we didnt need to win by 5 today because the league isnt over till may, simple as.its highly unlikely it will come down to goal difference so right now all we need to do is continue winning and puttin pressure on whoevers ahead of us….hope cesc is fit for the porto test midweek

  20. Lets all be honest Bendtner played like NOOB. No doubt he is a good player but men he knows how to miss in a big way. Key points though its good to see he can put himself in good situations to score. Though his inability to score consistantly will be hes downfall.

I am happy to see man u and chelski struggling. the good thing is that we are not underpressure. The pressure is on man u and chelski not to lose

On a side note, you got to love EBOUE that man loves football. It good to see a player who enjoys playing football and a big smile to boot. Also NASRI has silky smooth dribbling no1 can take the ball of hes feet wants he is in full flight.

    Negative – NO CLEAN SHEET

  21. Quick from me…

    Eboue…wow!…fantastic

Bentdner…yes should have scored on about 58 occasions….but he gave so much more to the game…after he went off…the tempo went down and it took us until the 93rd min to score…..He will rue those missed chances but he gives the team so much more!
