Aubameyang can lead Arsenal to the title

For 15 years, Arsenal fans have dreamt of winning the league. Who would forget the Invincibles of 2004 with their swashbuckling, attacking style of football that swept to the league title without tasting a single defeat? Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been in Arsenal News lately, all for the right seasons. The Gabonese striker hit the ground running at The Emirates Stadium last term, scoring 10 goals in 13 matches after signing from Borussia Dortmund in January.

While in the Bundesliga in Germany, he scored an impressive 141 goals in 213 matches. In preseason, he has been played alongside French striker, Alexandre Lacazette and has also featured out wide. Upfront is where he causes most damage. His pace, awareness and calmness tormented Premier League defences last term as time and time again he beat defenders for pace, running in behind and finishing with aplomb. The likes of Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and the other players will forever be remembered in the sands of time.

After that title triumph, Arsenal fans wouldn’t have thought they would have to wait for close to 2 decades before winning the trophy again. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one player that Arsenal are looking to deliver as a team that wants to win must have a striker that can guarantee at least 20 league goals. Arsenal had that in time past with Robin Van Persie after the exit of Thierry Henry, the support cast were just not good enough.

In 2011/12, the flying Dutchman registered a whopping 30 league goals but The Gunners still failed to mount a sustained serious challenge that term as Manchester City and United led the league for majority of the season. It is quite different this time as new manager, Unai Emery has signed players that address key problems. He has signed leaders at the back, a dependable goalkeeper and most importantly, a specialist defensive midfielder in Lucas Torreira.

Aubameyang is one player that guarantees goals. In Germany, he scored goals for fun. If Arsenal can tidy up defensively and concede less, his goals will change defeats into draws and draws into wins. These tiny margins mean more points and help the team to an overdue title campaign. While winning the league unbeaten may never be topped, Unai Emery can cement his own legacy with the Arsenal faithful. Aubameyang is one player that can put Arsenal in that path. He is that good.
